We use professional drum sanders and edgers to remove the old finish down to bare wood, then apply a fresh stain and topcoat of your choice. Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my floors can be sanded?
Solid hardwood floors can typically be sanded 3–5 times over their lifetime. Engineered hardwood can sometimes be sanded once depending on the veneer thickness. We'll inspect your floors and give you an honest assessment.
How long does the sand and finish process take?
Most residential projects take 2–4 days: 1–2 days for sanding, 1 day for staining, and 1 day for topcoat application and drying. We'll give you a specific timeline after seeing your floors.
Do I need to leave my home during the process?
We recommend staying out of the sanded areas during application and for at least 24 hours after the final coat. We use low-VOC finishes to minimize odor.
Can you match my existing stain color?
We can get very close to most existing stain colors. We'll bring samples and do a test patch before committing to the full floor.
