Frequently Asked Questions
How is sheet vinyl different from luxury vinyl plank?
Sheet vinyl comes in one continuous piece, so it has almost no seams. LVP comes in individual planks with a thicker wear layer and a more realistic wood look. Sheet vinyl is generally the more affordable of the two.
How should I clean sheet vinyl?
Sweep with a soft bristle broom, then use a damp or spray mop with a cleaner made for vinyl. Avoid wet mopping and steam cleaning — both can affect the adhesive underneath. See our floor cleaning tips page for the full detail.
Does the subfloor need to be prepared first?
Yes. Because sheet vinyl is thin and flexible, any bumps or debris in the subfloor will telegraph through and can be felt underfoot. The subfloor needs to be clean, smooth, and level before installation.
